Town planning, Environment and Developpment

The Town Planning, Environment, and Development Department plans development and land use for the town's territory. It is in charge of issuing construction permits and authorization certificates, besides carrying out the required inspections.

The department's mandate is also to make sure the municipal by-laws are complied with concerning urbanism matters such as zoning, housing development, construction, and cadastral operations. It sees that provincial laws are also complied with, namely those relating to land use, environmental quality, and agricultural zoning.
