| Quality of Life Choosing to live in the Town of Gaspé means choosing tranquillity mixed with thrills. Gaspé is right in the middle of Nature. Nowhere else can you live so close to mountains and the sea. Daily life is shaped by this special geographical context. The town is proud to have a magnificent stretch of water in Gaspé Bay , which is considered to be the second largest natural bay in the world, surrounded by three of the most beautiful salmon rivers in Quebec , numerous lakes, as well as Forillon National Park , plus many beaches along the shore. Gaspé is thus the ideal place for sport fishing, water sports, and holidaying. As for recreational infrastructure, there are two arenas, about a dozen skating rinks, hiking and mountain bike trails, tennis courts and track-and-field, as well as soccer and baseball fields. For sliding and gliding sports fans, Gaspé has a downhill ski centre with majestic mountains and two cross-country ski centres. It should be pointed out that the Parc de la Gaspésie, another ski spot, is only two hours away by road from downtown Gaspé. Gaspé has a temperate climate all year long, thanks to being by the sea. The climate is therefore very good for gardening. Furthermore, current climate change gives Gaspé a definite advantage, with winters that are among the mildest in Quebec .
